Install A Canon Power Booster Pbe2

The Canon Power Booster E2, also known as the PB-E2, is an accessory developed for use with the company's EOS SLR 35-mm film cameras. The device is L-shaped and is designed as a replacement for the camera's standard hand grip. Shutter buttons mounted at two points on the PB-E2 allow the user to operate the camera in both horizontal and vertical orientations. The PB-E2 allows for continuous shooting, providing a top speed of seven to 10 frames per second.

Instructions

1. Find the slotted disc on the underside of the camera, located underneath the hand grip. This disk is the head of an attachment screw that secures the camera's standard grip to the device.

2. Use a flathead screwdriver or the edge of a coin to turn the screw counter-clockwise until it comes loose. Pull the hand grip down until it disengages from the camera. Set the grip aside.

3. Insert the vertical end of the PB-E2 into the cavity located on the right side of the camera, where the standard grip was previously installed. Slide the accessory upward until the horizontal base of the PB-E2 makes contact with the bottom of the camera.

4. Examine the rear of the PB-E2 and find the attachment knob, located near the top of the accessory's horizontal base. Turn the knob to the right to secure the PB-E2 to the camera.

5. Pull down the small black tab that is recessed in the left end of the PB-E2. This is the battery magazine key, which secures the battery magazine within the accessory's battery bay. Turn the key a quarter-turn to the right and pull the battery magazine out of the PB-E2.

6. Install eight AA batteries into the battery magazine. The battery magazine features printed diagrams indicating the proper alignment for the batteries. Slide the loaded battery magazine into the battery bay. Turn the battery magazine key a quarter-turn to the left to lock the magazine in place. Flip the key upward to its original location.

7. Attach the optional handstrap. The attachment point is located on the bottom of the accessory, underneath the hand grip. It resembles a crossbar installed inside a notch. Feed one end of the handstrap loop underneath the crossbar. Pass the remaining end of the handstrap through the opposite end of the loop and pull tightly.
