The TomTom One XL comes preloaded with all the maps you need to traverse even the most winding roads -- as long as there hasn't been any major construction along your route since the unit left the factory. That's where the TomTom Services card comes in handy. Activating it guarantees that you will have the most up-to-date maps available for the life of the card agreement.
Instructions
1. Download and install the free TomTom Home software from the installation CD or TomTom.com if it's not already on your computer.
2. Plug the TomTom One XL into an open USB port on your computer using the included data cable. TomTom Home will start automatically.
3. Click "Use my activation of promotion card" in TomTom Home on your computer. Enter the code on your TomTom Services card. Click "Enter." Login to your TomTom account when prompted, or click "Sign up for an account" if you don't already have one. Once you're logged in, TomTom Services will install and activate on your One XL unit.
