Insert A Battery In A Palm Tx

Over the course of a Palm TX's life, you should never have to remove the battery. However, after the warranty has expired you might want to replace the battery yourself. This difficult task requires you to follow in-depth instructions. Once you have removed the battery, follow these steps to insert a replacement.

Instructions

1. Determine whether it's worth it. Opening your Palm TX voids your warranty. If anything goes wrong, you will have to pay the company to fix it. If your Palm TX is still covered by warranty, let Palm fix it.

2. Consider your usage. Your battery life will degrade over time but that's not the only reason your battery won't last the five days advertised. Using lots of applications and Wi-Fi will drain the battery significantly faster. Only open up your Palm TX if you are in dire need of a replacement battery.

3. Get a kit. You can buy a replacement battery alone, but it's unlikely you'll have the know-how or the tools to install it. You can get the kit online by doing an internet search on, "replacement battery" using Google or Yahoo!. Order a kit that has a battery, tools and detailed instructions.

4. Pay someone to do it. For about $10 you can usually find a vendor that will install the battery for you.

5. Send it into Palm. You can still get a battery replaced from Palm after your warranty expires, but the company will charge you.
