Hide A Camera In A Smoke Detector

Smoke detectors make excellent hiding spaces for surveillance cameras because they are unobtrusive. A camera hidden in the smoke detector can use the battery supply for transmitting a wireless signal, which is not impeded by the plastic components of the smoke detector. It only takes a few minutes to hide a wireless surveillance camera in a smoke detector, and the camera can then keep an eye on your home or work area. The only thing needed besides the surveillance camera is a screwdriver and some duct tape. The hidden surveillance camera can easily be removed at a later time to return the smoke detector back to its normal operation.

Instructions

1. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws holding the smoke detector to the wall or ceiling. Then remove the the screws holding the top shell of the smoke detector to the bottom.

2. Attach the clip from one power wire coming from the wireless surveillance camera to the positive lead of the battery inside the smoke detector. Attach the clip from the other power wire to the negative lead of the battery inside the smoke detector.

3. Use the Phillips screwdriver to push out the "test" button from the top shell of the smoke detector. Place the lens of the wireless surveillance camera against the hole left behind. Tape the wireless surveillance camera against the top shell of the smoke detector.

4. Reassemble the top shell to the bottom of the smoke detector. Reattach the smoke detector to the wall or ceiling. Your hidden camera is now ready to use.
