Unlock A Nokia 6555

People give many reasons for wanting their cell phones unlocked. You may have to travel overseas frequently or you may be permanently settling in another country. Whatever the situation may be, you have no need to purchase a new phone if you unlock your Nokia 6555. With an accurate unlock code for Nokia 6555, you can use a SIM card from any carrier you want, whether you are within your country or abroad.

Instructions

1. Find an unlock code-generating website for Nokia on the internet. (See Resources.) Certain websites provide free services, while others require a fee. The free service providers do not claim responsibility if the phone gets permanently locked by several attempts at entering inaccurate codes.

2. Find out the IMEI (Individual Mobile Equipment Identity) number of your Nokia 6555. The IMEI number is an individual code for each handset. You can find the IMEI number by two methods: removing the Nokia phone's back cover and looking beneath the battery, or typing "*#06#" on your cell phone.

3. Enter the details about your cell phone in the Nokia unlock code website. Enter the model number, which would be "6555" in your case. Also enter the IMEI number, country and service provider network. The calculator will then generate a series of unlock codes.

4. Remove the back cover of your Nokia 6555 (if it has not already been removed in Step 2). Remove the battery and slide out the SIM card. Now put the battery back into place and turn on the phone. You will now see "Insert SIM Card" on the phone screen.

5. Enter the unlock codes, one at a time, and see if any of these work. You will see a "Restriction Off" message on your phone upon entering the correct code. However, if the codes do not work, do not enter wrong codes more than five times, as doing so will lock your phone permanently.
