Create Ringtones Online

While you can download an audio editor or similar software program to make ringtones for your cell phone, this may be a difficult task for some of us computer novices. You may have less trouble creating your ringtones online. These websites allow you to upload audio files from your computer and turn them into ringtones without having to do much work. Use these two websites to create free ringtones online.

Instructions

Using PhoneZoo

1. Make a free account on PhoneZoo (see Resources below). Fill out the required information on the page and then submit that information to PhoneZoo. The next Web page will ask you to enter a code in order to finish creating your account. You will receive a text message from PhoneZoo that contains the code no later than one hour after you have submitted your information to PhoneZoo. Open the message, read the code and then type the code in the text box. Submit this information to finish registering with PhoneZoo.

2. Click the "Ringtones" tab on the PhoneZoo page. A few options will appear beneath the tab after you click the tab. Select "Create From File" to begin creating a ringtone.

3. Click "Browse" to upload a song from your computer to the PhoneZoo server. After you have selected the audio file, click "Upload."

4. Move the box in the "Edit Audio" portion to change the length of your ringtone. You can then preview the ringtone by clicking "Play." Continue moving the box until you are happy with the ringtone. Then, click "Save & Send to phone." You will receive the ringtone from PhoneZoo no longer than 30 minutes after you send the ringtone to your phone.

Using Myxer

5. Log onto the Myxer website and click "Make Your Own." You do not need to create an account in order to use Myxer.

6. Click "Browse" to upload a song to Myxer in the same way you would in Step 3 of Section 1. When the song is uploaded, you will need to click "Customize" to begin editing the ringtone.

7. Use the "Select a Section" box to choose where your ringtone begins and ends. Just as with PhoneZoo, you can click "Play" to listen to the ringtone before you send it to your cell phone.

8. Change the name and default volume of the ringtone in the "Ringtone Options" part of the website if you wish to do so. This is not necessary to send the ringtone to your phone.

9. Type your cell phone number in the "Phone Number" box below the "Ringtone Options" portion of the page. After you have entered your number, click "Send to Phone." You should receive your ringtone within 15 minutes.
