Photograph The Caught Fish

Do you want to prove your fish tales aren't tales at all? Take a picture of you and your fish after you've caught it. However, just snapping a shot of your catch sometimes doesn't give your prize justice. Using these photography tips, you'll have an indisputable record of your fishing adventure.

Instructions

1. Choose a camera that won't be ruined should it get wet. Digital cameras, while more expensive, are the most convenient and capture better images. Also, you can easily upload your pictures to your computer, making it possible to edit, email or post them to a website.

2. Buy a disposable camera if you are worried about having your expensive camera near water. You can even buy a waterproof disposable camera. Either way, you'll be surprised by the quality of the pictures these cameras can make.

3. Hold your catch lengthwise, holding the head with one hand and the tail with the other. Positioning your fish this way makes for better photos because the camera will catch more distinctive features, making it easier to determine the species of your fish.

4. Stretch out your arms in front of you, putting the fish closer to the camera. The fish will look bigger, and you will look smaller. Remember that your goal is to capture the most details of the fish you are photographing.

5. Look directly at the camera, and don't forget to smile. Not only do you want to get the best picture of your catch, but you also want to show off how proud you are. When you show the picture to others or look at the picture later, you'll relive that great moment.

6. If the fish is too big to hold, or the person who caught it doesn't want to hold it, keep the fish on the line and snap your picture. If your catch is on a winch, it's perfectly all right to stand near it for the shot. Just remember that it should be clear in the photograph exactly who the angler is.
