Increase The Battery Life On A Palm Tungsten E2

The Tungsten E2 has become a favorite among Palm enthusiasts. Recent improvements have made this model a stellar buy. A newly implanted non-volatile memory means that all information on the Palm will be saved, even if the battery dies completely. This is a nice feature, but unfortunately does not bring your Palm back to life. Let this article help you with increasing the battery life of a Palm Tungsten E2, so you can use it longer in situations where a charge might not be available.

Instructions

1. Charge your Tungsten E2 only when it needs it. Charging it every day can actually shorten the battery life, so let the battery run down completely before you charge it again. Eventually this will lengthen your battery life.

2. Turn your smartphone feature (a device that automatically checks your email) to every 5 or 6 hours or 2 to 3 days, if applicable. Having a shorter automatic checking period uses more battery power in a shorter amount of time.

3. Remember to turn off any repeating date-book alarms. Every time your alarm is set to go off (even if you don't need it) your handheld will turn on, draining more battery power than necessary.

4. Reduce the backlight frequency on your handheld. The brighter the screen, the more it drains the battery, so keep your backlight at a low enough level to conserve power, but high enough to see.

5. Remove the handheld battery door. Replace the current batteries with two other alkaline batteries of your choosing, paying special attention to their prior arrangement to insert them properly.
