Graphic equalizers help producers and musicians see their music.
A graphic equalizer displays a real-time graphical representation of the levels of different sound frequencies in an audio track (song.) Most graphic equalizers display a spectrum analyzer (bar graph) or an oscilloscope (frequency line.) The patterns and designs of the equalizer can be quite complex and beautiful or simple representations. Many graphic equalizers display the audio signals on an LCD screen. The screen can be manipulated in many ways to make it even more exciting.
Mount
Mounting the LCD display in an interesting way can make it more exciting and fun for those who observe it. This can be done in a nightclub or home theater system. For example, mounting the LCD display in the mouth of a cutout robot draws attention to the display and the LCD screen. The screen can also be mounted on the ceiling of a room or in a display case. Designing a mount can be an interesting project.
Wireless Remote
Using a wireless remote with a graphic LCD equalizer can allow the LCD display to be in a much farther location than where the receiver is. Plug the A/V cables into a wireless transmitter. Plug the LCD display into the wireless receiver and mount the display. The range for wireless transmitters can be over 100 feet.
Large Displays
Some graphic equalizers allow the user to focus in on a specific frequency. For example, the user may be able to focus in on and display just the bass frequencies zero to 300 Hz. Mount several LCD displays next to each other and have each focus in on a specific different frequency. This will create a giant graphic equalizer LCD display.
Filters
Graphic equalizer LCD displays can interfere with the decor of a room. For example, they are often bright and multicolored. If the room has a certain color theme, this can contrast with it. To solve this problem, attach a color gel film filter to the LCD display. This will tint the color on the display. For example, a blue filter will make the LCD display look blue.
