Motorola TalkPager Instructions

Motorola Talkabout pagers are portable messaging devices with support for email and other message types. The devices are small enough to carry in your pocket and feature a full keyboard for typing messages and inputting data. The Talkabout pagers have a user-friendly interface that is easy to learn and use.

Creating Addresses

Motorola Talkabout pagers allow you to save hundreds of contacts in the address book. The address book allows for saving the name, cell phone number, address and other information for each contact. It also makes sending messages with your Talkabout pager easier.

To add a contact to your address book, highlight "Address Book" using the navigation keys and press the "Enter" button. Highlight "New Entry" and press the "Enter" button. Type the name of the contact and press "Enter." Using the arrow buttons, highlight each field you have information for, press "Enter," type the information for that field and press "Enter." Once all of the information is input, highlight "Save Entry" and press "Enter" to save your new contact.

Sending Messages

Talkabout pagers support sending messages to email, cell phones and other messaging devices using a simple messaging interface. When you want to send a message, highlight "Select Address" on the main menu and press "Enter." Next, highlight "Address Book," press "Enter" and select the recipient. If you have more than one address for the recipient, such as a cell phone and email address, highlight the address you want to use and press the "Enter" button.

If you do not have the recipient's address in your pager, choose "Select Address" and press "Enter" to bring up a menu of message types. Select the message type and press "Enter." Type the address in the field and press "Enter."

Once the addressee is chosen, select "Write Message" and press "Enter." Use the keyboard to compose the message and press "Enter" when finished. Highlight "Send Message" and press "Enter" to finish sending the message.

Reading Messages

A flashing envelope symbol will appear on your Talkabout screen when you have unread messages in your mailbox. The symbol will continue to flash until you have read all of your new messages. Highlight the envelope symbol and press "Enter" to retrieve a list of your messages. Navigate to the new message and press "Enter." The message will display on the screen. Use the navigation buttons to scroll through the message if it does not fit on the screen.

On the bottom of the message is a menu bar with "Reply," "Forward," "Move" and "Delete" options. Highlight any of the options and press "Enter" to select. If you want to exit the message and return to your list of messages, press the "ESC" button on the pager.
