The MiniDisc is a digital audio player from Sony. The player used miniature disc cartridges to hold the music, and music could be written and re-written to the mini discs using a computer. One of the benefits of the MiniDisc platform was that each disc could hold a few hours of music. The platform was eventually out-shined by Apple's iPod media player. In order to transfer music to the device, you needed to use Sony's SonicStage software application.
Instructions
1. Download and install the SonicStage software.
2. Launch the application. Select "Import Music Files" from the "Import/Source" tab. Locate your music files on your computer and select the files you want to import into your SonicStage library.
3. Connect your MiniDisc player to your computer using a USB cable.
4. Select your MiniDisc player from SonicStage's "Transfer" drop-down menu.
5. Select the songs you wish to transfer to the MiniDisc from the library left-hand view. Click on the right-facing arrow to transfer them to the MiniDisc. The transferred files will appear in the right-hand view. Once complete, you can disconnect the MiniDisc player and playback your files on the device.
