Roady is the brand name of a series of audio devices manufactured by Delphi to tune in to XM Satellite Radio. A Roady features a small, portable receiver which plugs in to a mount in your car and can play more than 100 music, news, sports and talk stations from XM's channel lineup. Before you can start listening, however, you'll need to set up your Roady, and the first step is finding its ID number.
Instructions
1. Install the XM Roady receiver to a car mount or other power source and be sure to position its antenna toward an unobstructed view of the southern sky. Press the receiver's power button to turn it on.
2. Check that the Roady is receiving an XM signal on Channel 1, which is the satellite radio company's preview channel. Navigate the channel selector button to Channel 0.
3. Observe the Roady's eight-character identification number that will flash on the receiver's screen once it is on Channel 0. Write down the ID number to use when activating your XM account. Your account can be activated either on XM's website (see Resources) or by calling its toll-free customer service number, which is 1-800-852-9696.
