The Navigon 2100 is an entry-level automotive GPS receiver. The sleek device features a 4.3-inch touch screen, plus updated traffic information and text-to-speech verbal directions to get you where you need to go. If you are having difficulty operating the Navigon 2100, you can troubleshoot the device to ensure that it is functioning properly.

Instructions

1. Charge the battery before operating the Navigon 2100. If the LED light does not turn on, the battery is most likely dead. The Navigon 2100 comes with a car charger that connects to your vehicles cigarette lighter. It takes about six hours to fully charge the device, and the battery will last around three and a half hours.

2. Check that the SD card has been properly inserted into the SD card slot on the left side of the device. The SD card contains maps and software needed for the device to work, and also allows you to save routes and destinations. The card should be inserted connector side first, with the front facing upward. Never remove the memory card while the device is on, as this may cause loss of data.

3. Hold the "Power" button down for six seconds to turn on the device. If it is password protected, you will need to enter your password. To turn off the device, hold the "Power" button down again for six seconds. Briefly pressing the "Power" button will put the device in standby mode, which will save current data and lessen battery usage.

4. Position the device in an area that provides a clear view of the sky to access GPS information. If you are in a garage or underground parking structure, you may not get a clear signal to the satellites, and will not be able to create a route.
