Rip A Dvd For Zune

The Zune is a small hand held media player. It is capable of audio playback, video playback, and photo viewing. Video formats supported by the Zune are H.264 (MP4), MPEG-4, and WMV. Any video in those formats can be transferred directly to the Zune device. To transfers video from a DVD, you will need to first extract the video from the DVD and re-encode it so that it will display properly on the Zune. This can be done using any number of free conversion software (such as DVD to Zune Converter). The video can then be transferred to the Zune using any conventional method.


Instructions


Ripping the DVD


1. Download DVD to Zune Converter. You can use the "Resources" link below. Double click the .exe file to begin the installation. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.


2. Open DVD to Zune Converter.


3. Insert the DVD you want to put on your Zune into your disc drive. Click "Open DVD."


4. Set the "Output Folder" destination to your desktop.


5. Set the "Output Format" to MP4. This is the format that will play on the Zune. Leave the resolution on the default.


6. Click the "Convert" button to begin the conversion. Once complete, the file will be placed on your desktop.


Transferring video








7. Click "My Computer." Click the Zune icon. This will open the root storage folder of the Zune.








8. Click the "Videos" folder.


9. Drag and drop the recently converted file into the "Videos" folder. The video will be accessible in the Videos section on the Zune device.
