Make Icons For A Blackberry Theme Builder

One of the options that a Blackberry smartphone offers is the ability to make your own custom images, using the Blackberry Theme Builder program. You must create these icons with the correct properties, such as having the proper resolution and being shaped as a square (as long as they are wide); otherwise, they will appear distorted or cropped. On the other hand, these icons can be in color or monochromatic and can otherwise be completely custom-made.

Instructions

1. Determine the size of the icon you want to make. When replacing a default icon with your own custom icon, it is important that your new icon have the same resolution as the default icon. To do this, roll the pointer over the icon. A small balloon will pop up with the icon's resolution.

2. Open a picture editing program, such as Adobe Photoshop or the Paint application that comes as an accessory with Windows.

3. Design your icon. You can create one from scratch or open a previously saved image file to use as a starting point.

4. Change your new icon's resolution to match that of the default icon. Open the "Image" menu (at the top of the screen) and select "Image Attributes." From there, the resolution (number of pixels) can be changed to match that of the default icon.

5. Save your picture as a PNG file. Go to the "File" menu, select "Save As" and then select ".png" as the file type to be saved.

6. Download the "Plazmic Theme Builder" for Blackberry.

7. Open your Blackberry's theme. To do this, connect your Blackberry to your computer using the USB cord. Then open the Plazmic Theme Builder and click on the "Inspector" menu on the right side of the main window.

8. Change your icons. In the "Inspector" section, click on the third button (it is a picture of icons). Select the application you want to change and then click the "Change Icon" button. Select the picture file to use for each icon, then click "OK."

9. Export your new "theme." Once you have changed your icons, go to the "File" menu and select "Export Theme." Your new icons will be transmitted and updated to your Blackberry.
