Troubleshoot An Htc Touch Volume Problem

The HTC Touch is part of a line of smartphones produced by HTC. As the name suggests, the Touch features a touch screen interface. Like all phones, sounds are used to notify you of incoming calls, messages, alarms and other events that trigger a sound. You can program different ringtones and sound effects to certain notifications. Occasionally the phone may be accidentally muted or the volume settings inadvertently changed. Through the "Settings" menus, these volume changes can be corrected.

Instructions

1. Locate the volume slider control on the left side of the HTC Touch. Slide the slider up or down. An onscreen notification should appear indicating if the volume is increasing or decreasing. If the volume is still off or not functioning properly, proceed to Step 2.

2. Tap on "Start" on the home screen followed by "Settings." Locate and select the "Personal" tab.

3. Choose the "Sound and Notifications" option under the "Personal" tab in "Settings."

4. Scroll to the desired notification or sound event that you want to modify. Verify that the notification is enabled. Repeat this step for other notifications or sound events, such as incoming calls or an alarm that you want to modify.

5. Verify that a sound or ringtone is selected for each notification. Ensure that the volume levels are set to a level above "0." You can also set each volume level to "Vibrate." Use the left side slider switch to increase or decrease the phone's overall volume at any time.
