Take Apart A 3g Iphone

The iPhone 3G is a brilliant piece of technology, both inside and out. Despite its beauty, the iPhone is not impervious to damage. If you damage the phone, you will need to have it repaired, which can be costly. With a little courage and the right steps, take the 3G iPhone apart yourself and replace any parts you need to fix. This process may be riskier than professional servicing, but it will save money in the process.

Instructions

1. Turn off your iPhone. Using the SIM removal tool provided with your iPhone, eject the SIM card from your iPhone.

2. Turn the iPhone so that the bottom is facing you. Next to both of the speakers should be two small screws. Using your small Phillips-head screwdriver, remove both of the screws.

3. Insert the hobby knife between the display ring and the back panel, directly above the screws. Apply upward pressure to remove the display from the rest of the iPhone.

4. Remove the display from the device. Do so gently, as to avoid ruining any of the connecting ribbons at the bottom end of the phone.

5. Remove all three ribbons from the motherboard (located at the bottom end of the phone). The first two you can just pulling them up gently, while the third will need to be unclipped.

6. Remove all six screws (on the sides of the board) from the motherboard and unplug the camera ribbon (located in upper right hand corner of phone).

7. Remove the battery by pulling on the tab attached to the battery. This is the last part you should remove, as the rest are rest are relatively small and difficult to replace. If you do wish to remove any other components, it is merely a matter of removing the remaining screws from the assembly.
