Shutter Release Problems On A Nikon D2x Sb800

The Nikon D2X is a digital SLR camera. The camera features a hot shoe that can be upgraded with an external flash, such as the Nikon SB-800. The SB-800 will add extra flash power to your camera and allow you to take photos in a range of conditions. Shutter problems can occur if the SB-800 is not connected to the D2X properly.

Instructions

1. Check that the batteries are properly installed in the SB-800. If the position of the batteries is too low, the SB-800 may not turn on.

2. Check that the SB-800 is securely connected to the camera. The SB-800 will slide into the hot shoe on the top of the camera and lock into place with the lock lever. Power off the camera and the SB-800 before connecting.

3. Change the ISO setting. When using the flash, high ISO settings may not be compatible. Set the ISO to a lower setting to ensure compatibility with the flash.

4. Change the shutter speed. Like ISO, certain shutter speeds may not be compatible with the flash unit. Change the shutter speed to another setting to see if that fixes the problem.

5. Connect a different lens. If the shutter is not working properly for your current lens, try connecting a different lens. For the best results, use an official Nikon lens.
