Work A Memory Card Reader & Writer







Memory cards store all types of data.


These days memory cards are used to store all kinds of documents, from photos and images to documents and music. Installing a memory card reader on your computer is one of the best ways to move data back and forth. These memory card readers are easy to install and they are generally very inexpensive.


Instructions


1. Insert the memory card reader into a free USB port on your computer. The computer's operating system will automatically recognize the card reader and assign a drive letter to it.








2. Remove the memory card from your digital photo frame, MP3 player or other device. Insert the memory card into the reader, making sure that it is firmly seated.


3. Right-click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and choose "Explore" from the menu. Locate the drive letter that corresponds to your memory card reader.


4. Click on that drive letter to see a list of the files the device contains. Highlight each file you want to transfer, then right-click and choose "Copy" from the menu.


5. Click on the folder you want to copy the files to, then right-click and choose "Paste" from the menu. The files you selected will be copied from the memory card to your hard drive.


6. Highlight the folder on your hard drive that contains the files you want to copy to your memory card. Highlight the files you want to move, then right-click and choose "Copy" from the menu.


7. Right-click on the drive letter corresponding to the memory card reader, then right-click and choose "Paste" from the menu. Your files will now be copied to the memory card.
