Make A Video Amplifier Out Of Old Electronics

Put the boom back into your boom box.

The built-in speakers on an iPod, television, computer or laptop are not worthy of your movie library. However, there is a cheap and easy solution using old electronics you may have just laying around or in storage. The speakers from your old shelf unit, boom box or audio system are perfectly good in most cases. So bring them into the modern era by connecting them to a digital device. To be digital- friendly, all these retro-electronics need is an AUX input.

Instructions

1. Purchase a male-to-male stereo audio cable.

2. Plug the male-to-male audio cable into the headphone jack on your iPod, smart phone, laptop, television or computer.

3. Insert the other end of the male-to-male stereo cable into the AUX input, microphone input or line-in on the old piece of electronic equipment.

4. Plug the old stereo into an electrical outlet and place it somewhere safe and convenient.

5. Switch the stereo's function or setting to AUX input, microphone or line-in depending on the stereo type.

6. Turn on the new electronic equipment and blast your movie through your old-school electronics.
