Download Waypoints To The Navigon 7100

As the name implies, "waypoints" are points along a route -- they are plotted using longitude and latitude, and may be labeled as addresses, landmarks and points of interest. While your Navigon 7100 gives you the ability to add user-defined waypoints, the unit doesn't include any software for downloading, or importing, waypoints to the unit from your computer. With the help of the 7100's USB cable, however, you can download waypoints to the device manually.

Instructions

1. Connect the Navigon 7100 to your computer using the GPS unit's USB cable.

2. Click on the "Start" button in your operating system. Select the "Computer" option from the Start menu. Click on the Navigon icon in the menu.

3. Backup the 7100's files to your computer before continuing. Select all the files, right-click on them and then select the "Copy" option from the pop-up. Right-click and "Paste" the files into an empty folder on your computer.

4. Copy your waypoint or route files into the "Favorites.storage" folder on your 7100 -- open the "MN6" folder, go to the "Settings" and then open "Favorites.storage."
