Although mounting a flat panel television isn't necessary for viewing, it can be both a space saver and aesthetically pleasing. A mounted flat panel television is unobtrusive and stylish. Fortunately, it's also not too difficult to do, especially if you have a partner helping.
Instructions
1. Check to see that your television is mountable. Some models are made to only stand. You can tell if your television can be mounted by looking at the back. There should be four threaded screw sockets. If so, then your television is mountable.
2. Determine where you will place your television. It should be in a location that will provide easy viewing for all. Also, ensure that it is mounted at an appropriate height for viewing. as well. Once you have picked a location, use the stud finder to locate the studs and mark these in pencil.
3. Attach the mounting rails to the television by using the screwdriver to screw the rails in firmly. You should use the four screw holes mentioned earlier to connect the rails to the television. The mounting rails should come with the mount you purchased.
4. Take the mount and place it on the wall along the same line you made with your pencil marks. Mark the holes for the mount bolts in pencil.
5. Using a socket wrench, place the first bolts in along the top of the mount.
6. Use your level to determine if your mount is horizontally level.
7. Use the socket wrench to bolt the other two bolts firmly in place, if your mount is level.
8. Using your helper, take your television and slide the mounting rails into position on the mount. Your television should hang firmly without moving.
