The TK-272G is a compact portable FM radio that is available from Kenwood. When using this device you will need to know properly program options and specific functions of the radio. Functions of the radio include the Squelch option, which is used to mute the speaker when there are no signals for the radio in your area. You are also able to activate the lockout feature for specific channels.
Instructions
Adjust Squelch Level
1. Press the "Side 2" key and then press the ">" or arrow key. The letters "SQL" will appear on the radio display, along with the current squelch level.
2. Turn the Rotary Encoder and select a squelch level between 0 and 9. Turning the rotary encoder to the right or clockwise will increase the squelch level. Turning the rotary encoder counterclockwise or to the left will decrease the squelch level.
3. Press any key on the radio, except the "Lamp" key to complete the program option. This will return the radio to its normal operating mode.
4. Press the "Squelch" key to turn off the squelch. This will allow you to hear background noise. Press the "Squelch" button again to turn squelch back on.
Lockout a Channel
5. Turn the Rotary Encoder to a channel that you want to lock.
6. Press the "Scan Del/Add" key to turn on the lockout option for the specific channel. Repeat this step for additional channels.
7. Turn the Rotary Encoder to a locked channel and press the "Scan Del/Add" button to turn the lockout option off.
