3g To A Blackberry

3G wireless service enables mobile devices to perform both voice and data communication. It offers a faster transmission speed than previous wireless transmission standards such as 2G. A BlackBerry performs better on a 3G network because one of its main functions is data transmission. You can add 3G wireless service to a BlackBerry by signing up with a wireless carrier that offers the service. Your BlackBerry must be unlocked so it can work with other carriers, and you must provide your IMEI number.

Instructions

1. Visit the website of a wireless carrier that offers 3G service. Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T all offer 3G wireless service for BlackBerry devices.

2. Navigate to the Network Coverage Map page to make sure your location is covered by the wireless network.

3. Sign up for a wireless plan. Navigate to the Wireless Plans page and sign up for a 3G Blackberry service plan. Enter your personal and payment information when prompted.

4. Enter your BlackBerry IMEI number when prompted so the network can identify your phone (see Resources). Press the "Menu" button, then select "Options" and "Status." The number will display next to "IMEI." Confirm your application and you will receive a confirmation email detailing your new 3G wireless service. Once the phone connects to the network, it will activate and you may receive a welcome text message.
