Troubleshoot A N65

The Nikon N65 is a film camera.

Having the proper accessories for your camera is nearly as important as the camera itself. It is important to know the ideal conditions required for your camera to work properly. Often, the brand or condition of the accessories may influence your camera's functionality. The Nikon N65 has an LCD display that shows error messages when your camera is experiencing a problem. Issues with batteries and the shutter are common areas that require troubleshooting, as they may be sensitive to internal and external circumstances.

Instructions

Battery Installation in Low Temperatures

1. Switch the Nikon N65 to the power off position.

2. Turn the camera over to its bottom and slide the battery chamber lock to the unlock position to open the battery chamber.

3. Wipe the battery poles with a clean, dry cloth to ensure there is no debris that may interfere with performance.

4. Insert two new, clean CR2-type 3V lithium batteries into the battery chamber.

5. Store extra batteries in a warm location. Batteries that have been exposed to low temperatures do not operate at full performance.

Locked Shutter

6. Look on the LCD panel for an error code that reads "'EE."

7. Turn the exposure mode dial to "M." This will allow you to manually set the aperture.

8. Rotate the command dial while pressing the aperture button to set the aperture. The aperture button looks like a linked circle.

9. Rotate the command dial until you reach the largest '-number. The minimum aperture setting is the largest '-number or smallest opening. The shutter should now be unlocked.
