Print Cds With Hp Software

Print directly onto CDs or DVDs with HP software.

Several models of HP printer come with a special tray for printing directly onto CDs or DVDs. Combined with the HP software that came with the printer, you can print your own CD or DVD labels. This is useful if you have just made a CD or DVD of your home movies and want to make a custom label from your own photographs. You should allow approximately 15 minutes for this task.

Instructions

1. Start HP Solution Center by double-clicking its desktop icon. Select "Transfer Images" when the software is open.

2. Click the "Folder" icon on the "Import Photos" screen. Select the folder containing the images you want to print onto your CD and press the green "Select" button.

3. Select "Copy These Photos From Their Current Location Into My Photosmart Folder" from the menu. Select "Add This Folder."

4. Select "Create" from the bottom of the screen in the center, then "Disc Labels."

5. Select "Standard CD" from the "Print Directly on to Disc" box. The software will connect to your printer.

6. Select a template from the list and click "Choose This Design."

7. Select the photographs you want to print on your CD from the menu. The pictures you can choose from will be in the folder you selected in Step 2. Click "Add These Photos."

8. Click one of your images from the CD template layout and use the controls on the left of the screen to zoom or rotate the image.

9. Click text on the CD template layout and alter it on the left of the screen. Click "Create" when you are finished. You will see a preview of your CD label.

10. Check your printer is selected in the "Printer" box and click "Print."

11. Make sure your printer is switched on and has at least three inches of clearance at the back. This is because the CD/DVD tray passes through the printer and out the back.

12. Pull out the CD/DVD holder. Click your CD or DVD with the printable surface face up into the holder.

13. Pull down the CD/DVD tray on the front of the printer, and slide the holder into the printer. The printer will begin printing your design onto the CD.

14. Allow the ink to dry for a few minutes before removing your CD or DVD from the tray.
