Specifications Of A Peavy 215 Eq

Equalizers like the 215 EQ give users more control of sound output.

Equalizers allow users to control the frequency response of a digital sound system. Audio equipment manufacturer Peavey Electronics has released a number of different equalizers over the years. The 215 EQ was one of the company's offerings in 2011. Relatively compact and affordable, the 215 has a number of specifications that potential consumers should consider.

Features

The Peavey 215 EQ is a single rack, dual 15-band graphic equalizer. The unit can cut either 6 dB or 12 dB and can boost frequencies between 25 Hz and 16 kHz. The 215 EQ also features output level LEDs for quick and accurate level readings, a bypass switch with status LEDs, and center-detent sliders for adjustments.

Range

The 215 EQ has an overall frequency response between 20 Hz and 25 kHz. For its input, it has both an unbalanced and balanced impedance of 20K ohms and a maximum input level of 24 dBV. The balanced and unbalanced output impedance is 100 ohms, the maximum unbalanced output is 18dBV and the maximum balanced output level is 24. The 215 EQ also has an input headroom of 24 dB and an output headroom of 18 dB.

Filters

Filter bandwidth for the 215 EQ is 2/3 Octave, with a filter Q of 2.36. This Peavey equalizer also has the ability to boost sound by 12 dB and cut it by 6. Additionally, it can boost or cut gain by 12 dB, features a high-cut filter with an output of 30 kHz and an input of 16 and has a low-cut filter with an output of 12 Hz and an input of 40.

Size

As a single rack, the Peavey 215 EQ is relatively portable, measuring just 4.37 inches in width, 20.25 inches in length and 10.50 inches in depth. The unit weighs 6 lbs.
