Load A Canon T 50 Camera

The Canon T50 is a 35mm Single-Lens Reflex (SLR) film camera with electronically-controlled programmed automatic exposure (AE). The film speed scale ranges from ISO 25 to ISO 1600, and the camera automatically advances the film by using a built-in power winder. The conventional film advance lever is missing because of the power winder and, as a result, loading film does not require a manual advance. The power winder is designed to use little power, and two AA-size batteries will take over 75 rolls of 24-exposure film.

Instructions

1. Pull the rewind knob up until the back of the camera body cover pops open. Insert the film cartridge into the left side of the camera body with the exposed length of film feeding to the right.

2. Push the rewind knob down and turn it slightly until it drops into its normal position. This will properly position the film cartridge and lock it in place.

3. Pull the length of film extending from the film cartridge, called the leader, across the back of the open camera so that the end is aligned with the orange index found in the lower right-hand side of the film chamber.

4. Align the film perforations, found on the outside margin of the film, with the sprocket teeth found on the power winder roller. If the film extends past the orange index line, manually wind the excess film back onto the film cartridge by gently turning the rewind knob located on the top left-hand side of the camera.

5. Close the back of the camera when the film perforations are aligned with the sprocket teeth on the power winder roller. Turn the selector dial located on the top right-hand side of the camera to "Program."

6. Depress the shutter button until the frame counter (visible to the right of the selector dial) stops at "1." While holding the shutter button down, watch the rewind knob to ensure that it rotates in the direction of the arrow indicating that the film is properly loading. If the rewind knob is not moving, repeat the reloading steps and take care to align the film perforations with the sprocket teeth.
