Restore My Magellan Gps

Like most complex technology, GPS units are not immune to system errors and crashes that cause the device to stop functioning properly. Fortunately for Magellan owners, the GPS devices can easily and quickly be restored to the original operating condition. Restore your GPS to the factory settings and resolve any issues you are experiencing. The restore process is also useful before you sell the GPS or pass it on to another user.


Instructions


Restore Option


1. Turn on the Magellan GPS device.


2. Tap the "Settings" icon on the "Main Screen."


3. Tap the "Backup And Restore" icon. Choose "Restore All Default Settings" to restore the Magellan GPS to the original operating condition.


Reset Button


4. If your Magellan doesn't have a restore option in the software interface, turn over the device to locate the "Reset Hole."


5. Insert a straightened paperclip or toothpick into the hole to depress the "Reset Button."


6. Hold down the "Reset Button" for five to 10 seconds to restore the Magellan to the factory condition.
