Choose A Digital Tv Antenna

The move to high definition has brought clearer pictures and more channel choices across the country. But antennas have not changed very much. You still need an antenna to receive over-the-air digital television signals. New antennas are available that are designed for maximum performance for HDTV.

Instructions

1. Decide on an indoor or outdoor antenna. An indoor antenna is sufficient for most homes that are near television broadcast towers or that have a good line of sight to those towers. Homes surrounded by obstructions or a great distance from towers will benefit from larger, more powerful outdoor antennas.

2. Select directional or multidirectional. Directional antennas pick up signals from one direction while multidirectional antennas pick up signals from all over. Try a directional antenna if you know the direction of the TV tower you want to access but are having difficulty picking up a strong signal. Directional antennas can pick up signals from farther away.

3. Consider an amplified antenna. An indoor amplified antenna is a powered antenna that plugs into a wall socket. This feature boosts the strength of the antenna and can be a smart upgrade.
