Autostar Instructions

Autostar is a telescope controller that allows you to automatically adjust your telescope to a variety of more than 30,000 celestial objects in the night sky. The controller works with ETX-90AT, ETX-105AT, or ETX-125AT telescopes and DS telescopes. With the Autostar controller you can see more stars, nebulas and planets than you would be able to if you were adjusting the telescope on your own.

Instructions

1. Turn off the telescope. Plug the cord from the Autostar into the computer control panel on the telescope. Turn on the telescope's power.

2. Select the desired language from the menu with the arrow buttons. Press "Enter" to select it. Read the sun warning and move to the next message.

3. Press "Enter." Use the arrow keys to move the telescope in the desired direction. Use the number keys to decide the speed of the movement, with one being the slowest and nine the fastest.

4. Select "Date" and use the arrow keys to select the month and day. Use the number keys to select the year. Press "Enter." Choose "Time" and use the arrow or number keys to set the local time. Click "Enter."

5. Select the location of the telescope including the country or state with the arrow keys. Press "Enter." Select the closest city and press "Enter."

6. Select "Object" from the main menu and click "Mode." Select which object you would like to see in the night sky from the list and click "Mode" again. Select the object you would like to observe and click "Enter."
