The 28-77mm lens has a versatile zoom range.
The Nikon 28-70mm lens is an adjustable zoom Nikkor series lens. It is compatible with most of Nikon's DSLR cameras. Using this lens is easy due to the auto focus feature, which automatically sets the focus level based on the composition. For more experienced users, it also has a manual focus mode for more specific or unusual compositions. While the manual focus mode will work with most of the Nikon line, the automatic focus is only available on some models. Check your camera's manual for compatible lenses.
Instructions
1. Attach the lens to the camera body by inserting it into the lens opening and rotating it until it locks into place. Remove the lens cap.
2. Place the lens in auto focus mode by pushing the switch on it to "M/A". If you're more comfortable with manual, set it to "M".
3. Turn on the camera and place it in the auto focus mode that matches the lens mode. Aim the camera at the subject and look through the viewfinder to compose your image.
4. Rotate the zoom ring, which is the large barrel nearer to the camera, to adjust between a 28mm and 70mm zoom. The exact level of zoom depends on your composition.
5. Use a zoom closer to the 28mm range for wide-angle shots, which usually include landscapes or other large areas.
6. Use a zoom in the 70mm range for close-up shots of distant subjects, such as sports. The extra 15mm over a standard 18-55m lens will allow for easier cropping when processing. The 50mm to 70mm range is also a good zoom level for portraits.
7. Press the shutter button halfway to gain focus. In manual mode, rotate the focus ring, which is the large barrel farther from the camera, to adjust the focus.
8. Press the shutter button fully to take the photo.
