Mini slide viewers are helpful when setting up a slide presentation. They work great if you have a few slides you want friends and family to see without a cumbersome projector or a dark, indoor space. Mini slide viewers also come in handy if you want to save yourself from the onerous task of cutting and framing all of the slides.
Instructions
1. Purchase a mini slide viewer that fits your needs. Some models have a folding magnifier attached to the unit to magnify images once they are inside the viewer and illuminated by the batter operated light. If buying a used viewer, make sure the lamp works. If you intend to view strips of slide film, the model needs to allow side insertion rather than insertion from the top. Plastic, hand-held viewers are fairly inexpensive and are sold at camera stores, professional camera equipment dealers, camera equipment catalogs, camera shows and even on eBay.
2. Install fresh batteries into the viewer. Hand-held mini slide viewers usually use two or three AA batteries.
3. Slip the slide film strip or individual slide into the viewer.
4. Flip the power switch to turn on the internal lamp.
5. Adjust the magnifier if the mini slide viewer has this feature.
6. View the slide or pass the viewer around among to family and friends so they can share in the view.
