My Panasonic Ae700 Won'T Turn On

The Panasonic PT-AE700U, also known as the Panasonic AE700, is a widescreen home theater projector. If the AE700 won't turn on, the unit has experienced a power, temperature or lamp-related issue, or a more severe malfunction. Troubleshooting this problem requires that you check each of these potential issues. Typically, if you're dealing with a power, temperature or lamp-related issue, you can resolve the issue either by checking the power connection or cooling down the unit. If the unit has experienced a severe malfunction, you will need to contact Panasonic for repair.

Instructions

Power Connection Issue

1. Confirm that the "Main Power" switch at the back of your Panasonic AE700 is in the "On" position.

2. Look at the control panel and confirm that the "Power" indicator is on. If the projector doesn't have a lit "Power" indicator, press the "Power" button.

3. Check that you've plugged the power cord completely and securely into the "Power input (AC IN)" socket on your projector and the electrical socket.

Overheating Issue

4. Press the "Power" button to turn off your projector if the "Temp" and/or "Lamp" indicators have turned on or started to flash. When "Power Off" appears on the display, select "OK" and press "Enter."

5. Wait for the "Power" indicator to turn from orange to red. The unit should have cooled sufficiently to power it off. Move the "Main Power" switch to the "Off" position. Wait at least an hour to allow the unit to cool completely.

6. Reposition the unit in an area with an ambient temperature between 32 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit without any objects blocking the air inlets.

7. Return the "Main Power" switch to the "On" position. Press the "Power" button and then try using your projector again.

8. Turn off and unplug your projector to access the filter if the "Temp" indicator turns on or flashes again. Remove the air filter.

9. Vacuum the filter thoroughly to remove dust and reinsert it into the projector. If the filter appears damaged or overly dirty, discard it and replace it with a new filter. Turn on the projector and try using it again.
