Email has become a necessary way of communication for most people today. It is the main way that many communicate, and it has provided us so many reasons to use it. However, we cannot be around our computers all the time, which makes checking your email a problem if you need to check it regularly. One way you can get around this is to check your email using your cell phone. Learn to do this, and you will never miss an important message again.
Instructions
1. Press the up button on the directional pad of your cell phone. This pad is located just above the number keypad on your phone. Pressing this button will automatically start to log you onto the Internet from your cell phone. Once you are taken to the main screen, you will be given several options. If you are using Verizon wireless, you will choose the second option, or scroll and highlight the “email” section, and click "OK." If you do not have this option, then scroll to your search function to enter your email service provider.
2. Select the email service provider from the ones listed. The more popular ones will be listed, but if it is not, click the "Search" button. This will allow you to enter the name of your email service provider or enter the full address of the provider. Once you have done this and clicked on the appropriate areas, you should be taken to a log-in screen.
3. Enter your username and password to access your account. Be aware that the mobile version of your email account may not give you all the capabilities that you would normally get on a regular computer. This is due to the fact that your cell phone does not have the software or memory to run such programs. You will, however, be able to scroll and read your current emails. Once you are done, make sure that you have closed all of the emails you wanted to read.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen, and highlight the “log out” button. Click this button to log out of your email account. Close the Internet access on your phone by simply hitting the “Clear” button or the “End Call” button. You also can respond to emails as well, but it may take much longer, as you will need to enter the letters and numbers using your number keypad.
