A CB radio -- such as the Galaxy DX 959 -- can be very helpful if you spend a lot of time on the road. It can keep you in touch with other drivers, and even receive important safety information, such as weather conditions. But you are going to want to make sure the signal strength on the CB is as strong as possible. This requires installing a good antenna.
Instructions
1. Locate a position on the top of your car that is unobstructed. This is where your antenna will be placed.
2. Place your whip antenna on the top of the car. The magnetic base will hold it to the top of the car. The best antenna option is what's called a quarter-length whip antenna. It will provide the most power.
3. Run the antenna cable through the door of the car. If you run the antenna through the window, you can risk pulling it off of the top of the car when you open the door with the window rolled up. The rubber linings on the edges of the door won't do damage to the cable.
4. Plug the end of the antenna cable into the input jack on the front of the CB radio.
