Whereis is a mapping website service that provides mapping information to the people of Australia. The service has been active since 1996 and can be used to pinpoint and map the location of almost any address in Australia. The Whereis service uses regularly updated data and geospatial techologies to find locations. The maps generated by the service can be updated to a Mio device via a file upload from the Mio POI (point of interest) Loader application.
Instructions
1. Go to the Whereis.com website and enter the desired location address into the input window at the top of the webpage labeled: "Where." The site will pinpoint the location on the map and open an information window.
2. Click the "Send to GPS" link, then select "Mio" from the drop-down list and click "Save." The map .CSV file will automatically download to your computer.
3. Plug the USB connection cable into the "USB" port in the side of the Mio device, then plug the other end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer.
4. Double-click the Mio POI Loader application icon to launch it, then click the "Load POI" option in the top main menu. This will open a drop-down window menu where you can select the downloaded .CSV file. Select the .CSV file from the list, then click "OK."
5. Click the "Load All POI" option in the main menu of the POI Loader, then click "OK." The application will then automatically update the Mio device with the Whereis map.
