Use The Uniden Gps402 Maptrax

Backed by geostationary satellites and constantly updated map servers, automotive GPS devices give you the ability to navigate unfamiliar roads. And while your Uniden Maptrax GPS402, like most other GPS devices, is meant to be intuitive in use, the sheer amount of features and options included in your GPS402 prompt you to seek a bit of orientation.

Instructions

1. Press the "Power" button to turn on your GPS402, located on the left side of the unit.

2. Tap the onscreen "Destination" option in your GPS402's main menu to set up a new route.

3. Tap the "Address" or "Intersection" button in the "Set Destination" menu to key in a new destination. Alternatively, search for a POI by clicking on the "Places" option in the "Set Destination" menu; the keyboard menu will load.

4. Use the onscreen keyboard to enter your destination. The keyboard's text box will try to predict your input, and offer suggestions for what you might be trying to spell. If the keyboard predicts your word before you're done keying in your text, tap on the suggested word to use it.

5. Drag your finger across the map, after the map screen loads, to move around the map. Your route's starting point is marked with a green flag and the end point is denoted by a checkered flag. Blue flags mark turns and waypoints.

6. Tap on the "Route" option, when the map screen loads, to view information about your route. Use the "Route List" option in the "Route" menu to view your route's list of turns. Find alternative routes to your destination using the "Avoid Roads" button. Tap "Show" to return to the map screen.

7. Tap on the "Cancel Route" button to discard the current route or click on the "Menu" button to view your GPS402's main menu options.
