Close Apps On An Iphone 3gs

Apple's iOS 4 brought a convenient multitasking feature to the iPhone 3GS and to the iPod Touch. Multitasking allows you to run more than one application on your iPhone 3GS. A similar action occurs on your desktop PC when you are running multiple programs. To completely close apps on your iPhone 3GS, you have to launch the multitasking status bar. The multitasking status bar allows you to manage what applications are running on your iPhone.

Instructions

1. Double-click the "Home" button. The multitasking status bar opens at the bottom of the screen.

2. Swipe the multitasking bar to the left or right to locate the app you want to close.

3. Touch and hold the app icon until it starts to jiggle.

4. Tap the "-" symbol that appears in the top left corner of the application's icon. The application closes and the icon is removed from the status bar.

5. Press the "Home" button once to stop the other app icons from jiggling.

6. Press the "Home" button again to close the multitasking status bar.
