Maintain A Consistent Equalizer Curve Throughout

Many receivers have a built in equalizer.

An equalizer is a device that alters the levels of different audio frequencies. This helps the user customize the "feel" of the music. The curve refers to how the line of switches look after adjustment. Maintaining a constant equalizer curve throughout a song or on a device is simple once the equalizer has been setup. The equalizer curve does not change once it is set. So the optimal setting does not change.

Instructions

1. Examine the controls on the equalizer. Look for the row of switches on the front of the equalizer. Depending on the model, there may be a few or many. Each switch represents a range of audio frequency; the frequency will be labeled. For example, one switch may be 300 to 400 hertz.

2. Play music through the equalizer.

3. Adjust the settings on the equalizer until the sound is optimal. The equalizer curve has been set. This curve will not change until the user wants to adjust it, perhaps for a different style of music.
