If your Polaroid HDMI camera battery won't charge, you can't get much use out of the device. In fact, after the battery drains, you won't get to use the camera at all until you can charge it or replace the battery. Fortunately, you can troubleshoot and repair charging problems.
Selecting Chargers
Your HDMI camera works with a specific type of charger. Using another type of charger may prevent the battery from charging fully, or from charging at all. Polaroid makes charging accessories for their camcorders. These accessories are designed specifically for their cameras. However, you can also buy third-party chargers to use for your HDMI camera. The charger must fit the charging cord on your camera to work properly.
Charger Damage
Damage to the charging outlet on your camera battery can prevent the camera from charging properly. For example, if the input for the charger cord has damage such as missing or bent prongs, the charger will not fully connect. Without connecting, the charger cannot charge the battery. Verify that your charger outlet is not damaged and that the green light turns on when you charge the camera.
Battery Problems
The battery included with your Polaroid camera has a limited life cycle. Meaning the battery can only be charged and used so many times before it will lose its full power. When a battery starts to lose power, it may seem like the battery is not getting a full charge as it will not last as long. A dead battery will not charge at all.
Repairs and Replacement
Old or damaged batteries typically need replacement. When replacing the battery, purchase a Polaroid recommended battery as other batteries may not last as long, or may even damage your camera. Problems with the camera itself, such as damage to the charging outlet, typically need professional repairs. Verify that your camera does not have a warranty before using a third-party repair company, as doing so may void any active warranty.
