With mobile TV you can keep up with your favorite programs while you are on the road.
Unlike 3G-based cellphone TV, Verizon's Wireless V-Cast Mobile TV provides high-quality video that lacks the annoying lags you experience when your cellphone is buffering for streaming video. This is because Verizon's V-Cast Mobile TV uses a different technology and coverage system than previous mobile TV providers.
Broadcasting Method
Verizon's Wireless V-Cast Mobile TV uses a dedicated UHF wavelength spectrum, the 300 to 3,000 megahertz range, instead of the 3G network. This may allow you to watch TV even though you don't have any coverage bars on your cellphone. Also, the quality of the picture is much better than previous mobile TV broadcasting methods.
Coverage
As with all mobile networks, your Verizon's Wireless V-Cast Mobile TV is only as good as its coverage. Unfortunately, the dedicated UHF broadcasting method Verizon's Wireless V-Cast Mobile TV uses also limits its coverage to cities or regions where dedicated UHF transmitters have been installed. Check with Verizon to see if your region has V-Cast's Mobile TV coverage.
Video Quality
The high quality of Verizon's Wireless V-Cast Mobile TV picture is its greatest asset. The picture does not experiences audio or video lags, and the picture is clear and smooth due to a transmission speed of 30 frames per second. By comparison, 3G's EV-DO streaming speed is 15 frames per second.
Programming
As of May 2011, Verizon's Wireless V-Cast Mobile TV provides channel lineups for eight networks: CBS Mobile, Comedy Central, Fox Mobile, ESPN Radio, NBC, MTV, NBC News and Nickelodeon. However, not all shows on these networks are immediately live on V-Cast Mobile TV. Some networks, such as Fox Mobile, provide simulcast capabilities to its mobile platform but this is still not available for all of its programming.
