If you have files on your cell phone, PDA, or digital camera that you want to transfer to your computer, you can find the appropriate memory card reader to allow the transfer to happen. Inserting your memory card into a memory card reader transforms the card into a flash drive that can fit into a USB port on a computer. Once you plug the assembly into the USB port, you can open the memory card and export everything on it to the computer system in a matter of seconds.
Instructions
1. Insert the memory card into a USB memory card reader, then plug the combination into a USB port on the computer. If the computer has the Plug and Play function, a menu will open automatically that allows you to view the files on the memory card. In that case, you can skip directly to Step 4.
2. Open the folder in which you want to download the contents of the memory card and minimize it.
3. Click on "Computer" or "My Computer," then then click on the drive that represents the memory card to open it.
4. Select every item on the memory card by clicking on each icon while holding the "Ctrl" key on the keyboard.
5. Drag the selected items to the destination folder; ensure that each of the files have been exported to the computer properly. This finishes the process of downloading a memory card to a computer.
