Global positioning systems, which use a network of satellites, have become mainstream for getting directions and finding your way around town. GPS units can do other things now, too, including transferring media files and other data through synchronization with a computer. Using the sync feature with your device is simple and convenient.
Instructions
1. Install sync software on your computer. The latest version of the software should be available for download on the manufacturer's website. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the sync software.
2. Attach the included USB cord to the GPS system and the USB hub on the computer. Make sure you wait until the software prompts you to connect everything with the tether or it might freeze the system. Then you have to shut it off and start from the beginning.
3. Use the "Settings" menu to set up a sync partnership between the computer and the GPS unit. Then decide which files and items to sync. The GPS unit will automatically transfer any media files into a format it can read, but only after you've installed the converter on your computer.
4. Click the sync button to sync your GPS to your laptop. Allow the sync procedure to finish before you disconnect the USB cord to avoid data corruption or having the system freeze.
5. Enjoy the convenience of allowing your GPS to sync files from your computer.
