Convert A Nikon Lens To Digital

If you have been taking high-quality pictures with your Nikon cameras over the years, you probably have a few non-digital SLR cameras sitting around, most of which come with interchangable lenses. Because the glass in the lens only brings in and focuses the light and does not convert the image to digital, it can be used with either a film or digital Nikon camera.

Instructions

1. Remove the lens from the film Nikon camera. Hold down the locking button next to the lens and twist the lens at the base. The lens turns and can be pulled out of the camera.

2. Place the film SLR's lens cap over the expose hole where the lenses are housed. This keeps dust and other debris from entering the camera and distorting future pictures.

3. Locate the connection dot on the inside of the lens. There is a marking on the bottom part of the lens that matches a mark on the Nikon camera. This points out how the lens and the camera need to be aligned to be properly threaded.

4. Insert the lens into the Nikon camera and turn it clockwise. When you hear a brief "snap" it means the lens is locked into place.
