Clean A Nikon Slr

A clean lens equals a clean picture.

Nikon SLR (single lens reflex) cameras are film-based cameras with removable lenses. This allows you to adjust the settings of the camera and accurately capture the image you want. However, like all other cameras, a Nikon SLR is can accumulate dust and dirt, and this may prevent the camera from capturing images accurately. If your Nikon SLR is not performing at its best, it may need a good cleaning.

Instructions

1. Power off the Nikon SLR digital camera. Remove any film you currently have in the camera.

2. Open the film housing chamber on the rear of the Nikon SLR. Examine the interior for dust or film debris. Blow out any of the debris with the air blower. Do not use compressed air as it sprays too hard, which may result in damage.

3. Remove the lens cap from the Nikon SLR lens and examine the glass for dust or debris. Hold the lens under a lamp or direct sunlight to better see the debris.

4. Wipe off the glass of the lens to remove most of the dust and debris.

5. Spray a few shots of air with the air blower into the corners of the lens to remove the excess dust stuck in the cracks of the lens.
