There are several reasons why you may choose to make your own ringtone for an Alltel phone. Making your own ringtone allows you to choose which song or audio clip plays each time you receive a call. The best part about creating your own Alltel ringtone is that doing so allows you to put ringtones on your phone for free. Unlike other similar websites, Myxer is fully compatible with Alltel phones. Here is how you can use Myxer to create free Alltel ringtones.
Instructions
1. Sign up for a Myxer account. Use the registration link in the Resources section to go to the Myxer sign up page. Once you're there, enter your email address, cell phone number and enter a password. Click "Create Account" and you will receive a confirmation email from Myxer. Open that email and click the registration link to confirm your account.
2. Go to the Myxer homepage (see Resources ) and click "Sign In" to enter your account.
3. Click the "Account" link in the top right portion of the screen to get to your personal account page.
4. Click the "Phone Details" link on the left side of Web page for your account.
5. Click on the drop box next to the "Wireless Carrier" option and then select "Alltel." Click the "Update" tab when you're finished.
6. Click the "Make Your Own" link in the blue toolbar to begin creating your free Alltel ringtone.
7. Click the "Browse" tab on the next page. Search for the song or audio file on your computer that you want to make into an Alltel ringtone. Click "OK" after you have found the file. Then, click the gray "Customize" tab.
8. Move the shaded area in the "Select a Section" box by clicking on the center of the box and dragging it either to the right or the left. Then, click the "Play" button to preview your ringtone. Continue doing this until you are happy with the starting and finishing point of your Alltel ringtone.
9. Set the volume of your ringtone by clicking the box next to the "Volume" option.
10. Click "Send to Phone" when you're done and your free ringtone will be sent to your Alltel phone.
