Types
There are various types of memory card adapters available. Many cameras use their own type of memory card, such as those from Sony. A USB adapter functions just like a portable flash drive.
Uses
A memory card adapter is used to transfer data from one place to another. A USB adapter can be taken from one computer to another to transfer data. A memory card adapter can also be used as a substitute for a specific type of memory card. This is because a memory card adapter can be used to change the size and type of one kind of card into another.
Prices
The prices of memory card adapters can vary depending on the type of adapter that needs to be purchased. Some adapters are included free when a memory card reader is purchased. Depending on the type of adapter that is needed, prices can range from $10 to as much as $30 or more.
