Transfer A Digital Movie From A Memory Card To A Dvd

DVD discs allow you to take a video from your camera and store it on a readable disc.

Whether you've just captured a precious family moment on video or you recorded an embarrassing moment your friends will never forget, you can transfer the video to a writable DVD. Transferring your video to a DVD allows you to play the video on your computer or in DVD readers, such as video-game consoles or DVD players. The video is stored on your camera's memory card. You must first transfer the contents of the memory card to your computer and then burn the video to a DVD disc.

Instructions

1. Connect the provided camera USB connector into both your digital camera and computer. If you do not have a USB cord, remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into the memory-card reader on your computer. Not all computers have memory-card readers.

2. Turn on your camera. The "AutoPlay" window will appear. Click "Import pictures and videos using Windows." Your pictures will also be imported. You can tag the pictures, such as "Family," in the pop-up box that appears in the right corner of the screen. Click "Import" if you do not want to tag any pictures. The "My Pictures" and "My Video" windows will appear with the contents of your imported videos and pictures.

3. Insert a DVD writable disc into the writable drive in your computer. Click "Burn files to disc using Windows Explorer" in the box that appears.

4. Type in a name for the DVD, such as "Home video," in the provided "Disc title" text box. Select "With a CD/DVD player" and choose "Next." The DVD writable folder will open.

5. Click the "Start" menu. Click your user name at the top of the right pane. Select "My Videos." Drag the video you wish to burn to the DVD over to the DVD writable folder.

6. Click "Burn Disc" near the top of the window. A progress bar will indicate when the video is fully copied.

7. Remove the DVD disc when the disc tray ejects.
