My PC Won't Detect an 8GB MicroSD Card
A micro SD card is simply a smaller version of the standard SD flash memory card. There are many different storage sizes for the card, including 8 gigabytes. If you are attempting to upload data onto your computer from a micro SD card but the computer is not detecting the card, a few methods are available to troubleshoot the connection problem.
Instructions
1. Connect the micro SD card reader to the computer's USB port after the system powers on.
2. Check the micro SD card connection. Make sure the micro SD card is completely inserted into the micro SD card reader. If not, the computer is unable to detect the 8 gigabyte card.
3. Disconnect the USB cable of the card reader from the computer and insert it into a different USB port. On occasion, some USB hardware is not detected by specific connection ports, so changing the hookup point can correct the problem.
4. Install the provided driver that came with the micro SD card reader (provided on a driver installation CD). Although most computers do not require the drivers older computer systems do need this connection. Insert the driver installation CD into the computer, then click "Next" and follow the prompts of the wizard to completely install the driver onto the computer.
